NPD: TC Electronic Dark Matter Distortion

Today was a good day with both my Cannabis Rex and this Dark Matter distortion pedal arriving in the mail. I was a bit hesitant to buy this pedal because it was marked down so cheap! I sure am glad I rolled the dice on it though. The range of what it can do is pretty awesome thanks to the gain, level, bass and treble controls on top of a contour switch. I got about 2 hours in jammin' on this pedal so far today but hey, a guy's gotta take a shower and eat so I will add more thoughts to this thread after I have spent more time with it. So far I am quite impressed by it though!

I'm really lovin' this distortion pedal. It really does have tube-like response and a nice thick, saturated creamy tone. When you turn down the pickup volume it cleans up just like a tube amp does and when you dig in while playing the pedal responds just like a tube amp with the gain up a bit. Also, as an added bonus, it plays really nice with my big muff pi fuzz. I can have both of them on at the same time and get a really great tone. I know I have barely scratched the surface with this pedal but so far it's been 50 bucks very well spent!

I got the same deal on the MojoMojo, and hope to have the same opinion... I've had the blessed thing over a month, and haven't had a chance to break it out yet.

Jeebus, I haven't had a chance to even *play* in over a month. Getting itchy.
