So yeah, I picked up that ISP Theta Preamp pedal a few weeks ago. Sounds awesome. It should for $300.

Picked up this bad boy to see if it can be used as a preamp:

$30.

Doesn't sound as good as the Theta (a little noisy, but the Theta does have the ISP Decimator built in), but it sounds great in my chain. Even better than the H&K Warp pedal that it's supposed to copy.

At this point, I'm ready to try the Danelectro Fab Metal pedal for $15. I bet it'll be spectacular.

I used to have a Warp Factor. It was like playing a Metal Zone with the treble turned all the way down and a subwoofer tacked onto your rig. And not in a good way.

I had the Warp Factor a while back. With proper EQing it was passable, but still kinda bleh. I saw some people liked using it as a fuzz pedal. The Sub switch on this one makes it sound like the H&K did with the sub switch off.

With the sub switch off on the Behringer, it actually makes a pretty decent preamp. Once I set my noise gate properly, it was smooth sailing.

I used a Marshall® Valvestate 100 watt head going through a model 1960A cabinet with Celestion® Vintage 30s in it, and that was killer. For effects, I used a Digitech® Whammy, an old Ibanez® chorus, and I also used a Line 6® Pod Pro for a lot of my effects as well because it has a wide variety of effects that I really like. I used the Pod for all of the clean parts with effects. The dirty stuff was straight Marshall with the chorus and Whammy.

That's what we need on this forum -- less chin music and more clips. (Or "klipz", in some regions.) Maybe someday I'll post a clip or two of my own, but that day is still many, many years away.
