NPD... Whirlwind Orange Box

I very nearly forgot I'd paid for this over a month ago and when I did remember I thought the post office had gone and lost it. Well just yesterday I contacted the seller. Anyway it turned up today and WOW, it's a really beautiful almost vocal sound. I really liked my block logo 90 with the R28 mod but man this Orange box is so sweet sounding. It never gets harsh, even when it's nearly max'd it sounds excellent... I love it. So thanks to Sacha aka Thames for shipping from Canada to UK.

Is the Orange Box a Phase 90 style or Phase 45 style??

Personally I think it's a repro of the 90, whilst it sounds more musical and vocal than my 90 from the clips I've heard the 45 is more subtle.

I think it's one of the original Klone boards that John was using... he only had a couple and I believe no more available. It's the only overdrive I like into either a clean or dirty amp.. love it.

You've got a nice assortment of pedals. You're right about the Klon circuit sounding great with any amp you plug it into. And Strymon stuff is usually my first search on Craigslist. I'm always looking to snag a couple more like any of the delays or Blue Sky.

Cheers Joe, yeah I'm pretty happy with my board at the minute. I still have a few pedals at home that I don't gig with, the Keeley T.M.B, Ibanez Flanger, J.B Wah and Fuzz Face, Crunchbox and a Polytune. Ref the Klone it is a killer pedal that has ended my lust for a Timmy or any other od's. Further down the line I'd like a brigadier to go with the El Cap and to complete my board I really want a SunFace. :friday:

I think it's a fairly early one 'coz the build number on the inside is PH000177.
