NPD with a story.

Last Wednesday, I spotted a limited run Wampler Pinnacle being sold for... around 70 bucks, I guess. Naturally, I HAD to buy it. I contracted the owner, and to my disappointment, he had already made a deal with somebody else. Life went on.

Came Sunday, I was browsing Facebook, and found that very same pedal, being sold for the same price. The owner thought it had too much gain. I pulled the trigger and made the transaction within an hour of his posting the ad.

Last night, the pedal came to me, and I just had to contact the man from whom I was originally going to buy a Pinnacle from. It was then that I learned he sold it to the same guy I eventually bought the Pinnacle from. I got the very same box I laid my eyes on last Wednesday!

I absolutely love this pedal. It tries a bit too hard to capture that amp character, but it does its job well -- getting a brownish sound. I don't really like it too much for rhythm because it has a slightly spongy/twangy sound, but for leads, it kills! It makes me want to get more high end out of my modified RAT to keep up with it.

This thing is definitely a keeper.

This thing has a lot more gain than I thought, though... sadly, this version doesn't have a lot of volume on tap. I might find someone who can help with that, or I may leave it this way.
