Didn't you just get that cheap Chinese isolated PSU like a month ago?

Re: NPD x2 Boss DD3 and MXR Phase 90!

Yeah, but the adapter for the bastard has decided to stop powering it :/ talk about cheap

Here is my board as it is. The Danny is just a space filler until I can find a better PSU.

If your pedalboard is now "perfected" then, logically, this should be the last time that you need to start a new thread about it.

If the adapter has failed, the power distributor may still be functional. Given the capability of these items to ruin some pedal components, it would be smart to purchase an approved, smoothed and regulated, PSU.

Nice to see that you are taking best care of your acoustic guitar.

Not so nice to see that you have ignored Crusty's advice about professional musicianship and socks.

never mind about the PSU, it turns out one of my power outlets here is not drawing enough current to power it.. but here's my board now.

Power outlets do not draw current. Devices plugged into the power outlet draw current, and our Australian domestic power outlets can provide anything up to 10 Amps. Beyond that, fuses will blow (hopefully, otherwise the power point or house wiring may start to melt).

Typically, electric heaters and devices running larger electric motors (fridge, washing machine, larger power tools) will draw the largest Amperage, things like stereos, tv's, computers, etc. don't draw a great deal of current.

If the plugpack power supply for your pedalboard was trying to draw more than the wall outlet is capable of supplying, you'd have SERIOUS trouble.

The current requirement for your pedalboard could be around 1 Amp at the most, probably less. So the plug pack that plugs into the power outlet and runs your distribution box should be rated for 1 Amp, or even better, something a little larger, up to about 2 Amps.

The distribution box or the plug-pack could be the culprit. It is possible the wall outlet is faulty, but you could test it by plugging a lamp into it, or maybe a radio. I have a great distrust of Chinese electronics that plug into our 240 Volt supply. How the heck some of it (hair dryers, toasters and anything else that plugs into the wall) is allowed into this country I have no idea.

Must be about time for another pedalboard photograph. Failing that, another full video guided tour. :fingersx:

Re: NPD x2 Boss DD3 and MXR Phase 90!

The cheap Chinese stuff is hit and miss. I have a great one I took a chance on but I don't dare leave it plugged in when I'm not using it because I assume it's built to meet China's standards, not Canada's. That said, over 100 hours of use and it gaunt caught fire yet, so I think I'm in the clear.

I'm the same, I never leave Chinese-manufactured electrical devices switched on or even plugged in when they're not in use. The risk is too high. Australia usually has very strict regulations about things like electrical devices, it seems we must have a second, lower standard for Chinese appliances.

Phase 90 and DD 3….

I'd be playing some VH I today….

Re: NPD x2 Boss DD3 and MXR Phase 90!

Just get a One Spot and daisy chain, it will be a better solution for you than a cheap Chinese brick. Those aren't isolated anyway.

The pedal order is interesting.
