I'm not sure dirty is the right word. It has a really good buzzsaw type of fuzz, but I found it a bit tough to get some low end "girth" into the tone; it got too nasally. And it usually pissed off any guitarist I played with, when I used it. I love their Mini Trem, but the BOF just doesn't do it.

It's the sort of bass fuzz that makes me feel like a frustrated lead guitarist. Which is the last place I want to be playing bass (lol).

I would have gone with a Big Muff. A relatively cheap pedal that keeps all the low end.
