After about 2 years playing through the stock D-Activator set in my Ibby V, I decided to make a change to the bridge pickup.
I switched the D-Activator bridge for, wait for it,
A DiMarzio X2N.
There's nothing wrong with the D-Activator, but the X2N can't be beat for old school thrash/death/speed metal.

good choice. I am not a huge Dimarzio user however, i do like the X2N and FRED quite a bit. I have an X2N in a black Charvel Model 2 tuned to D for Thrash/death metal.

Havent played an x2n, but my god is the fred amazing for hard rock/old school metal

The X2N is a beast and it pairs quite well with the D-Activator neck.
