Posted this on SS.org . coudlnt be arssed re typing something new.

So got my Pegasus/sentient combo installed in my ET katana 7 yesterday arvo . I have had ceramic Blackhawks in it for a year and I like em but I was starting to find them too hot, too saturated , too much of everything .I think they do what they do super well but its not totally suited to me . Neck also wasnt quite chimey and warm enough for the clean stuff I like to use a neck for

so spent a couple weeks reading up . I started looking at BKP's but my last 5 pick up purcases have been BKP. felt like trying something else. Plus aussie $ has gone a little south again and duncans were less than half the price .

I knew I wanted less output , less aggressive , less bottom end , more warmth but still clear and tight enough on the low B or A . I play a dual recto so I need tight enough high gain sound going into the amp

And I have to say this combo has impressed right off the bat and has ticked every box .Its too early for a glowing review but 1st impressions are up there with my best ever

Sentient- really nice neck. I have always loved the SD 59n for clean sounds and its in that ball park . a tad less bassy which is good for the low string . its less output than the 59n . I have it pretty much up as high as I can have it which suprises as duncan neck PU's usually I back right down

Pegasus - I was a bit nervous about an alnico opiton for 7 string . I have only used ceramic on 7 before , Cpig and the blackhawks , but I am a changed man . low string sounds fantasic . less bottom end and more clarity than the BH's . Not as much thump , wallop, chaos and chugg but more of a musical clarity and warmth. still bright but less agressive bright .Output feels spot on. still enough to be meaty and alive but still moderate enough headroom to use the OD808 to take it into the amp without getting too saturated and lose definition . also sounds like it will sit great in a mix with less effort . for my style anyway

really impressed with this effort from Seymour . as always real acid test is in the rehersal space with my equally loud band mates flailing away but 1st impressions are really good
