Eminence Legend GB128
Bought one of these a while ago for a 1x12 cab that I can lug around and use for band practice etc & I'm really impressed with the way it sounds. Can't lie, price was the biggest factor since the Legend series for some reason is a lot cheaper than Eminence's Red Coat/Patriot series here . While this cost the equivalent of about $120 the Red Coat stuff (Wizard, Private Jack etc) costs double that or more ($225-250 per speaker)..
But in the end that worked out great for me 'cause I actually like the sound of these better than the Wizard's that a friend of mine has in his 2x12 (sounded a bit boomy/cloudy in there to me) & would have got it over a Wizard anyway based purely on it's sound. The GB128's are supposed to be Greenback clones, & close to the sound of Private Jack's but with clearer mids & some difference in the highs. I've never tried a Private Jack but they definitely do have a Greenback type sound except 'firmer' & a hell of a lot louder overall. Really deep & round but tight bass, incredibly crunchy & thick (but clear & open) mid's & sweet, present highs that never get harsh. :bigthumb:
Short clip ~ hard-rock/metal riffs:
