I used to own this years ago. I'd only had it a couple days and a pal HAD to have it, and since he offered enough - I took it. He's been playing it for years, but just bought a Gibson Vee and needs to downsize his collection. He traded it back to me for some pickups and a future refret on a Les Paul. He'd installed a Hot Rodded Set awhile back, and I'm finding the JB is pretty bright sounding. Might have to change it for something else later. There's no rush. This thing looks new except for one little chip on the back.

Cool guitar!! I'd get the JB out, too, and put something warmer and more touch-sensitive in there.

I'd say, either APH-1 set,
Slash set
Whole Lotta Humbucker set
or if the guitar has a really great acoustic voice,
Seth Lover set or
Antiquities

How does the Jazz neck sound? If it's good, just change the bridge pup.

If the JB sounds good to you other than being bright, how about a magnet swap and/or screw changes to a lower carbon content alloy (1016 or lower)? If you just don't like the sound of the JB (you're not alone) try an APH-1 bridge or just the Slash bridge. Either of those go good with a Jazz neck

I'd try a 250K pot on the JB, although you likely have enough pickups on hand to making swapping just as easy.

I have a ridiculous number of pickups in stock. Seems I never stop buying. I should consult my list and see what would be good.
