NUGD........ it's a Dreamsicle!

I brought this home on Friday. I would've posted sooner, but was really busy all weekend until now, now that I'm back in the truck.

So anyway, it's a really good used Charvel Wildcard #6 Dreamsicle....it even still has the case candy. One of the shops I go to had it for awhile, and everytime I've been in there it has caught my eye. So, finally, last month I said screw it and put it on layaway. They had it about $100 cheaper than I could find them online for, so the price was right as well.

This thing is as good, if not better than my USA made Jacksons. Great neck, and it plays really smooth. This is also the first guitar that I've had without a tone control, so I've been getting to hear another side of the JB and STK-1 pickups that I hadn't heard before. I may end up bypassing the tone controls on all of my guitars, if I still like this after the honeymoon wears off.

The only thing I don't like is the drastic volume drop between the bridge and neck, which is something I've noticed on my Jacksons with the same pickups. But since it's an example of a very limited run, I may just leave it, and it could come in handy when using the volume knob to clean up an amp.

And it's great to have a Charvel again. my first electric was a Charvel Dinky (not sure of the exact model), so this is kinda like welcoming an old friend back home.

That's nice, man! Gotta love the S-H configuration and simple controls. The color looks awesome!

Thanks!.....most of you.

You are delusional. Thats a cheap POS you are trying to compare to a US made Jackson,,yeah, right.

Lol! I own a USA KV2 King V and a USA SL1 Soloist, and yes, this Charvel is on par with them. And it's alot better than my MIJ Dinkys. They did a damn good job with these Dreamsicles.......and frankly, this guitar has a better fret job.

Love that color! The only thing I could never get over with those Charvels was the whole taking the neck off to adjust the truss rod thing

Re: NUGD........ it's a Dreamsicle!

1. Loosen strings.
2. Remove neck.
3. Adjust truss rod.
4. Put neck back on.
5. Tighten strings and tune up.
6. Wait for 15 minutes then check curvature.
7. If neck not straight/ curve enough, repeat.

I knew it had to be a Charvel by the thread title. Congratulations and enjoy!!

If you're opening to swapping neck pickups, a Cool Rails balances a lot better with a hot bridge humbucker. I have one in the neck of my Charvel model series mutt with a Custom in the bridge. It doesn't quite balance, but it gets reasonably close with pickup height adjustment.

If I ever do swap pickups in this guitar, I'm leaning towards a Quarter Pound in the neck.
