Hey everybody, I just got a nut job!:laugh2:

I took my gothic gibson les paul (with seths) to get the nut filed. I now have the lowest no buzzing action I have ever seen on ANY guitar, the tech did a wonderful job in about an hour for $5.41! It now plays with the smoothest lightest touch action I've really ever witnessed.

Just wanted to pass the word along that even if you think your nut is cut fine (mine was) it can be amazing to get it just right.

Wonder if this would help on my acoustics?

A properly cut nut and a fret dress are the 2 things that will make almost any guitar w/ minor playability or QC issues into a player´s dream

Or on the flipside, an improperly cut nut and poor fret dress will make any guitar into a player's worst nightmare. Case in point: my Aria STG-004... in its current state, IMPOSSIBLE to properly set up.

just curious... when you say nut job, did he replace the entire nut or just file the original down? did he re-file the slots too? Is this something that can be done at home? I'm asking cuz I plan on ordering a set of nut filed from stew mac becuz I wanted to replace or file down the bridge saddles on one of my SG's. (Jagged edge is causing string breakage). I ordered a set of replacement saddles and a new bridge, but they're all un-notched. If I get the tools, can the nut job/replacement be done by myself? (rookie)

get the Guitar Player repair guide from stewmac or amazon, learn it by heart, and with minimal practice you´ll be able to do more than just Nut jobs
