Just checked the serial number on my 2210 and it's a 'W'. Which I believe is late 80's?

Sorry for the hijack :)

Craig

According to THE HISTORY OF MARSHALL,
W = 1988.

Re: Od pedal for jcm 800

Hi guyz. I've got a Marshall jcm800 2204 50w. It was good for what i was doing some time ago. But now, i need more gain. How can I push the jcm800 into a high gain distortion??
(I have a Les Paul with Ducnan Custom bridge, and Pearly Gates neck)

THANKS

One pedal and one pedal ONLY- Tubescreamer.
I know , I know, sd-1 (od-1)...yes, that too.
Ts-808 just pust the Jcm800 in palce that basically nothing else can touch, The Sd-1 runs a superbly close second. Those are the only two pedals I would even consider in front of an JMP or 800.

Tks man!
But i have one more question. Am i going to have any bass loss with any of those padals?

THKS VERY MUCH

?? eh come again??
Hmm you might get a cleanbooster with alot of volume, those give a pretty natural sound to a driven amp, or a compressor set for more boosting.

Oh, I see. wich one would you recommend? (btw, if this helps, I can get a "GN'R" type of gain, with my amp cranked up, but would like to go farther, something like Avenged Sevenfold or slipknot.... I need that for some songs that I'm now writing)

Tks man!

edit==> Or... maybe what i need is some distortion pedal (like line 6) and, when i want my amp distortion, wich I use a lot, I just turn of the pedal, and when i want to go super distorted, I just set the preamp knob down, volume up, and turn on the pedal... what do you think?

I have the same amp, i push it with a DS1, i'm not after metal tones, but i do like the tones i get from this set-up, cheap pedal too.

Re: Od pedal for jcm 800

I have a Rivera Knucklehead and I use the Boss SD-1 to push. I have for years just used a stock one with no problems, though recently I had one modded by Keeley and it sounds great. I also have a DS-1 that is modded by Keeley that also works well they just have slightly different tones. The SD-1 pushes more mids and the DS-1 is a little more even EQ. I use the SD-1 because I also use a BBE which tends to push lows/highs and loses some midrange and the SD-1 brings it back.

If you have a budget I would say SD-1, DS-1 or TS9. I think you can buy the boss ones for around $40.
