Odd Problem.

Heres one...

I got a strat with a mini bucker and 2 single coils. Its wired typically, but for some reason the tones are acting as volumes. I want them to be tones. What could be the problem? They are all 250k, except the volume, which is a 300k. Any advice?

Im not a big wiring guy, but they could be wired backwards or something??

look at the tone controls
only two legs of each should be in use

the third should have nothing on it

if the leg of the capacitor has shorted between the two inuse legs
separate and cover with tape

if you dont find this please post a pic of the control cavity

yea, its wired up just like the diagram. its really odd...ive done a ton of these. ive never encountered this. i was thinkin about just swapping all the pots out and redoing it from scratch. but id like to figure out what this problem is for my own reference.

if tones act like volumes
then the unused leg is grounded

if a volume acts like a tone
then the grounded leg has become ungrounded
