Odd Tele Wiring - Need Help

Hey all,

Been trolling for a while but finally got stumped enough to post probably a simple question.

I have a 62 reissue telecaster with a SD Lil 59 in the bridge position and a 78 Dimarzio super 80 (flying fingers) humbucker. I am trying to wire them up with a 4 way oak grigsby switch to have Bridge, Bridge and neck in series, neck, bridge and neck in parallel. I also have a coil tap switch for the lil 59 bridge pickup.

Heres where the problem occurs, I have been working off a diagram I found on the forums which is almost exactly what I am doing with one exception. Every diagram I find uses the neck pickup to wire in series and I cannot do that unless I dismantle my vintage Flying Fingers pickup (which is sealed and I dont want to take apart) as it has a 1c shielded pickup lead. So when I wire it up like this diagram I end up with the bridge on in every position but every other option works, series or parallel and the coil tap.

Thanks for any advice.

Just ignore the volume kit, it's not necessary. What you want is wired exactly the same except for the coil split. Solder the red and white wires of the neck to the center lug of the left side of the push/pull pot and the red and white of the bridge pickup to the right side of the push/pull. Then connect the two lugs on the bottom row, then connect one of them to ground.

The color codes don't match on this, but the ones labeled - are green and + are black.

Flying Fingers pickup is Ibanez, probably made by Maxon, not DiMarzio.

On a circuit like this with a 2 conductor cable, you can't run that pickup in series unless it's ground stays on ground. You will have to connect the bridge pickup in series.

Yeah I meant Maxon, got so many old pickups sitting around I tend to forget who made which one.

Anyway, I know I can't use the 1c as the pickup that runs through series so I am using the 4c bridge pickup and wiring it exactly like the diagram Except I hook up the bridge wires where the neck wires should be and the neck wires where the bridge wires are on the diagram I posted. The problem is Bridge pickup is always on, series and parallel work just fine but I don't have a setting with just neck.
