Sounds like a fair trade as long as you check it out in person. With regards to that line, Gibson usually did a much better job matching. Still a killer axe for sure

A friend of mine has a 70's Les Paul in that same color, she's an awesome guitar.. I'd take it man, she may be worth a good portion one day.:cool2:

I hate pancake bodies. looks like it's got a 3-piece top as well, more hate.

That kind of body is consistent with it being from the early 70s- there's a thin layer of maple between the two slabs of mahogany. I had a '71 Deluxe like that. If it is from '72 then I think it must be a Deluxe that's been routed for full-size buckers - wasn't the Standard out of production until '75/'76? Does it say Deluxe on the truss rod cover?

Looks nice though. If it were me I'd have to go and check that out! A neck/headstock repair (if it has one) needn't put you off if it's been done properly and the price is right.

And yes, Ace did play a tobacco burst in the early days - before the cherry burst.
