I purchased a Bass PODxt and so far I am glad I did. This is perfect for my needs (100% bedroom player). I don't know how close the models sound to the originals, but I don't really care. I found some stock models I liked and started tweeking from there. Now I just need to figure out how to program the thing... well I got the manual, now I just need to sit down and read it.

I'll get some clips up one I get a little more familiar it.

Enjoy it Pods are a lot of fun, I just bought my friends PodXT and it's great for practicing at home and also recording. For live use I still prefer pedals and simple tube amps!

Re: Officailly Joined The POD Club

congrats and enjoy welcome to the club, I really enjoy mine but like j.LaGrassa said its only OK for gigs, I would use a real amp for that.
Or the POD XT with one of those Atomic amps.

Re: Officailly Joined The POD Club

I used to have a POD xt live for my guitar rig and eventually sold it.. did nothing for me.

The bass pod though.. that thing is amazing! congrats

Get on the L6 website, download Line 6 Edit. This will allow you to use the computer to edit your patches - that's the only way to go!! Plus you can download some patches by others.

Re: Officailly Joined The POD Club

I used to have a POD XT but I ended up selling it to help fund for my LP purchase..... If I ever get another I'll most likely get the POD XT Live.

Re: Officailly Joined The POD Club

I will probably do that. Getting past the basic tone editing I am really confused. I can't seem to find the effect I want to use.

Right now I'm really digging the Vox model with the cab off.

Dial up what you like, press "Save," tell it where to save the patch (location, e.g., 3B), and press "Save" again. It really is that simple.

I have figured that out. I just can't seem to find the effect when I want it lol. I wanted some auto wah eariler and I was in the effects section, just couldn't find the wah. I know its there I'm just not a good looker. I think that software will come in very handy.

Missed that you said you got a bass xt. I don't think these patches will work with that... but for anyone out there using guitar version of the PODXT... get these patches!

Re: Officailly Joined The POD Club

are you using it for bass or 6-string guitar? I was surprised when researching behringer v-amp pod clones that they market their "bass pod" product not just for bass, but keys, acoustic, and electric guitar. OK....then why different models for guitar and bass if they can be used for either - why not make 1 super one?

Hahah thanks. I working on my own patch at the moment for a Hip-Hop style bass tone. I got the software last night and it made it so much easier to get things edited.

I'm using it mainly for my bass, but I may run other things through it if I feel the need.

I'm personally digging the Mesa-Boogie Model at the moment!

Good for you, son!

The people who complain about the Pod XT tend to fall into one of these camps:

1. They are familiar with what all the modelled amps sound like, and are disappointed that the models don't sound exactly the same as their memories.

2. They expect it to work like a multi effects unit that they can simply plug into an amp.

3. They expect it to feel and respond like a tube amp.

Anyone who believes any of those will be disappointed by the Pod.

1. Not familiar with any of the amps
2. Didn't expect that
3. Got it to go direct

That must be why I like it :fingersx:

Re: Officailly Joined The POD Club

If you purchase a regular guitar POD XT, you can buy the bass expansion pack for $100, and it gives you all the amps and cabinets for bass. Unfortunately, the opposite isn't true.
