Oh my...

Re: Oh my...

Cool. The body actually looks a lot similar to a 64 strat I once saw. The off-white top coat was coming off in large peels just like that.

Re: Oh my...

I wonder if it's US, JPN, or MEX

I'm laughing ... but it's a laugh of fear and loathing

But did the neck look like a piece of untreated deck wood? :blackeye:

Re: Oh my...

at first, I thought it must be a 50s or 60s strat, but no, it's just a recent American Standard. :(
there's a difference between "relic'ed" and just plain abused

considering it's on ebay, I'm surprised the seller didn't try to hype it as a "collector's item" :)

I'd love to gut it and try to make it work again. too bad the auctions over.

Wow.. if you could bring THAT back from the dead, you would have nothing but my utmost respect. It'd sure take a lot of work/patience.

you know whats even more fun? me and my friends buy the cheapest peace of crap solid bodies we can find(last one $5)and take turns smashin it, lighting it on fire and beating it with misilaneous objects. Nothings quite like the feeling of standing in the street and throwing a guitar as high as you can and watch it hit the ground and snap the neck in half!!! :laugh2: :laugh2: :laugh2:

HOW COULD YOU?! You're supposed to do that ON STAGE! :smack: :laugh2:

Re: Oh my...

It's a recent Mexican standard, the bridge has vintage style saddles, and skunk stripe neck, not old or a vintage RI.

Re: Oh my...

That would be a cooul project, all you need is a set-up & some strings, viola! (might be better doing that the other way round though, strings first).
