Oh No Gas Again, this Time Jcm800

Re: Oh No Gas Again, this Time Jcm800

A 2205 with 6550's. That should provide some hot rockin' sounds.

It is going to need new tubes and some speaker jack work. The tubes look like they were ran hot. I would ask the guy a question or two about the biasing of the amp, like what the plate voltage is and what he biased the amp at. The speaker jack looks to have the shaft broken off inside the chassis. A new jack would need to be soldered to the PCB inside.

I'd go for it providing he will accept local pickup and answers some questions correctly. I'd also find out if I could hear it.

The "Super Lead" tag is funny. :)

The only way to cure JCM 800 gas.... is to buy one! That is all that cured me. I am still happy with the decision

Wixedmords,
I am very dissapointed with you, Laney brethern. How come you did not recomend an AOR??? don't break the oath.

Re: Oh No Gas Again, this Time Jcm800

I own a 2205 and have to tell ya, it's a great amp. Honestly, it's the amp that finally encouraged me to "go Marshall" in late 2005. Since this time I've bought 3 more heads and 2 (soon to be 3) more cabs, all Marshall. And that's from a guitarist who went just over 20 years with never owning a Marshall, now I may never play through anything else. Tubed and biased right, it sounds phenomenal. Mine runs EL34 power tubes, and it's beefy as heck, so 6550's should sound amazing. Hmmmm mayhaps I'll think about trying that in mine.... Could be interesting...

thanx guys i've e mailed the guy ,maybe go see him and the amp and if there is enough gas then this years tax returns are going to Marshall.

I'd kill for that. It's a good thing they made killing illegal :)
