Re: OH NOT another pup maker!

I might have to try some of these since Duncans seem to be so much expensive over here. I paid about £70 for my Duncan Custom and they seem to cost about that in USD over there.

EDIT: Just checked Muscians Friend and 123Music and they are both selling the Custom for $69.95 which XE.com makes out as about £38!!

No... you only need two P90's... PIG-90's!!! :firedevil
More seriously, that will probably look cool, but why not try a zebra-type HSS setup like zebrawood neck single, mahogany middle single, and the humbucker with zebrawood/mahogany coils? Or the same in HSH. Coils would go like mahogany/zebrano - mahogany - zebrano/mahogany... :smoker:

Thinking about it, that'd look really cool!

Thanx for the suggestion :D

It'd only look 'right' though if I could get the grain of the pickup covers matched to the grain of the guitars top (it felt weird typing that :D)

MAKE SURE you let me know how you like the Mules ;) :D

I worked hard on those pics, so you can tell I suck as a photographer. :)

Re: OH NOT another pup maker!

for some noname thing the Xbucker sounds pretty good, the warthog too.... very interesting.... and cheap!

Re: OH NOT another pup maker!

well i guess it'd sound pretty similar to what i've got in my strat, with the neck and middle pickups in series, which sounds great and very 'neck-humbucker' thru a good amp (like a cranked Fender), very noticeable difference to a single coil, plus you still get the single coil sound when you want it - very versatile

I am really interested in how the AMP model humbucker would sound, with the individual polepiece magnets . . . a singlecoilish humbucker???

Particularly when you split the coils I suppose -- it's kind of a flat (no-stagger) version of Seymour's own Stagmag.

Re: OH NOT another pup maker!

I'm going to get a couple of tapped pyros soon for the neck and middle.
