Exactly!! I own 4 Charvels from the past 7-8 years or so. I have a 2008 Style 2 2H that I bought new for $700. My other 3 are ones are from the past couple of years. I paid $600 new for each of them. I think that is the perfect price point for those guitars. Don't get me wrong, they are not cheap pieces of crap, but there is no way in hell that I would ever pay more than $700 for one of those guitars. To me that is where they should be priced. If they were they would sell more.WTH, 1100-1300 USD for an MiM strat? Who's gonna buy this? When they first came out they were 1000 USD list price for MIA and street price was considerably lower.

Hi,
Did you happen to see how much of the body would have to be routed to put a SSS configuration in there? I really want to do this as well but I don't want to compromise the wood where it may make the post for the FR loose or break through. Any other recommendations with regards to this? Thanks
For the SoCal with a pickguard that I have, it has the route for the middle single coil and for sure you can put a single coil in the neck, however if you put the strat pickguard on top you will see the tip of the slanted single coil will overlap with a bit of wood. This is the same story every time with any Strat fitted with a FR. Fortunately you should be able to solve this by either getting a custom made pickguard to properly position the bridge pickup OR you can always put a humbucker that splits very well (Screamin Demon? PRail?, StagMag?).
Regarding Warmoth pickguards, you can specify (somewhere on the form) that it's cut for a Floyd route at the back (forget how it's worded exactly). I ordered several pickguards for my SoCals from them a few years ago, and they were all Floyd-ready.
Only trouble was that Fender and Charvel have different neck heel widths, and I had to modify the neck cutout of the pickguard to fit around the neck comfortably.
As well, the cutout for the Charvel pickguard's bridge pickup was farther forward than the Warmoth, which meant the back of the pickup bumped the body.
I tried to do a S-S-S pickguard, but the body cavity would have to be routed to allow the bridge single to fit.
However, all the holes lined up, so that's good.
But that was with the USA SoCals. No idea on the Japanese or the impending MIM models.
