ohm question

Re: ohm question

thanks for all the info, im finally starting to catch on. if i run a single 16 ohm cab, it will not hurt anything, but it will not draw near as much of the true power, right? why i was thinkin that i would like to go the 16 ohms speakers in a 4x12 cab with 2 jacks (like 2 cabs in one) was so that when i can afford another cab, i can run it with 16 ohm speakers and rewire the first cab to run in parralel through a single jack and that should bring the total of both cabgs to 2 ohms? is this correct?

Re: ohm question

also, one other thing. like i mentioned, i am a complete idiot about electronics, and am just starting to learn a few things.

if i ran an 8 ohm cab through one speaker jack and nothing else, since it doesnt have a power transformer to burn out, is it set up to run full power? or will it cut the overall power down? and if so to what aproxxximate wattage.

Sounds like a plan. I think that's precisely what I'd do.
