i just read something about the stereo outs on my Tsunami pedal...:boggled:

Utilizing both outputs in stereo produces a very wide effect in both modes. Guitar Shop Magazine said: "A very interesting feature (and one that might be overlooked if not fully explored) is the unit's output section. It has a single input and two outputs much the same as most "stereo" chorus units. The difference here is that one output puts the effect in phase with the dry signal, while the other gives you the wet and dry signals out of phase. With the dual outputs, when used in stereo—either through a mixing board or with two guitar amps—the combination of in- and out-of- phase effects together provides something very special. Your run-of-the-mill chorus unit's stereo output will not provide this degree of colorful spatial manipulation. Also, be sure to try both outputs even when using the box in mono. You can achieve cool, subtle differences using one output or the other."

Que...what...:smack::dunno::?: can somebody explain this to me in english!?

Re: ok...evidently i'm phasetarded?!

That I think is "true stereo". It has been shown that a lot of pedals are not true stereo, both outputs do the same thing.

Re: ok...evidently i'm phasetarded?!

I do not think it is true stereo. True stereo would be if one output was dry signal only, and one output was wet signal only.

Re: ok...evidently i'm phasetarded?!

dry signal is what you put into the effect. dry because there is no effect on it.
wet signal is the signal after the effect is added. Chorus type effects then mix the signal that has the effect (wet) with the signal that does not have the effect (dry). This creates the chorus sound.

nope that is not the case. the dry output is just a bypass of the effect. you can consider that stereo if you play two amps at the same time with differnet output, one dry, one wet.

is that the dano tsunami pedal? what kind?

Plug it into two amps and stand in the middle. You'll either find tonal nirvana or get seasick and vomit.

Re: ok...evidently i'm phasetarded?!

Dry means straight guitar signal. Wet means the processed signal. In a chorus pedal, 100% wet is really vibrato - the chorusing comes from mixing the wobbly pitch-shifted vibrato with the dry signal. So a mono chorus gives you Dry + Wet.

Some choruses with two output just output the dry and wet signals separately. Cheezy.

In your case, you get two separate mixed signals, (Dry + Wet) and (Dry - Wet). This means the wet signals are out of phase. Also, the +Wet signal is in phasse with the dry, but the -Wet signal is out of phase. Run in stereo, you'll get different signals left and right. Using just one output, it's just mono chorus, but you may hear a difference between the two output jacks. Pick the one you like.
