VHT Pittbull Clean tones are nothing to write home about.

DSS: I'm gonna have to disagree with you 100,000% bro. The VHT Pitbull IMO (and most other folks opinions) has one of the best clean tones for a high gain amp that I have ever heard.
Given that.... the dude is looking for a metal amp so it might be safe to assume he is not as focused on that quality right? :beerchug:

In all seriousness. I am a "Fender clean" snob and I really enjoy the VHT!! Also the VHT became a new amp when I popped a Lil' 59 in the bridge and got rid of the true single coil Tele pup!! I think the old B Bender could rock with the best of em now. (ehhh probably not. Just a shameless plug for how I love that combo hehe).

Geeeez. I didnt realize searching for a good metal amp was gonna offer up so many tough choices. lol

Keep the info coming.

Re: Ok guys........

I was gonna say the same, although I haven't played a Pittbull.....my experience with VHT was in the form of a 2/50/2 power amp & a GP-3 preamp.

Just monster tones out of the 3 channels on the GP-3 & the class A option on the power amp was super cool.

If you have a couple of cabs & don't mind rack gear, I HIGHLY recommend both pieces.

If you prefer a head/cab....or combo...I'm not sure if it's the UL or CL that is basically the same as the 2502/GP3, but they are definitely worth a shot! :beerchug:

Depends on which one you're getting... I find the Ultra Lead and CLX's cleans not that great. Not bad at all, way better than say... a 5150, but I've heard better out of high gain amps.
