OK here's a clip of that japanese Les Paul

Re: OK here's a clip of that japanese Les Paul

:6:

:headbang:

Sounds pretty good. It does sound darker than the Bird. Not bad though.

Re: OK here's a clip of that japanese Les Paul

That volume was EXTREMELY low...lowest I've ever recorded prolly (it was late) and I know that didn't help...plus my recording "setup" sucks bigtime @$$ :D

Pots are cheap...may just see if this thing opens up with a new set...after going to GC today it really made me appreciate how well it plays and how well it's built :laugh2:

Re: OK here's a clip of that japanese Les Paul

Sounds great! Eventually I would like to get an Edwards John Sykes model.

Re: OK here's a clip of that japanese Les Paul

Can tell much difference between this guitar and the one you used on crazy train, besides the darkness.

Re: OK here's a clip of that japanese Les Paul

Thanks folks :)

Tap...the Crazy Train clip was my Firebird Studio w/ gibson 498/490 pickups. The POD XTL does "homogenize" guitars to a certain extent. They all kinda end up sounding the same under gain. The bird is very fat sounding as well...good piece of mahogany in it.

Re: OK here's a clip of that japanese Les Paul

nice playing Jeff
Particularly enjoyed "Lay it down".
Sounds very nice and sustainy man. And yeah - I'll have to agree it sounds darker than a regular les paul.

Re: OK here's a clip of that japanese Les Paul

Thank You :)

I'm not sure if it's the pots or not. But I can plug in my other guitars back to back with it, and it's def darker and has that "wet blanket" thing going on a bit. Even the 59 in the neck isn't bright?:eek13:

It's darker soudning naturally too. Makes me wonder if the dang thing really has a maple cap or not. Guess I could pull a pup and check.

Re: OK here's a clip of that japanese Les Paul

cool riffage Jeff. I just listened to the B52 clip too. I was laughing pretty hard.

"I'm not really into this ****, but if your into that scoopy stuff this thing can do it. I will now attemp to play.... some..... sort of..... metal"

"I kinda tweaked the ***** scoopy channel a bit, added a little reverb"

Re: OK here's a clip of that japanese Les Paul

:laugh2:

Its bad enough I record sober..damn sure shouldn't whacked out on Benadryl

no clue why I felt the need to post that..

Glad someone got a laught outta it tho :D

Re: OK here's a clip of that japanese Les Paul

that phantom of the opera bit SCREAMS for a backing

i got a funny feeling, you and me would get along quite well in a band lol

and yea, it does have kind of a wet blanket effect.. but i blame the capacitors, not the pots themselves (taking that they;re 500k. if not, it's a combination of both)

nice attempt at nubmer of the beast, but the speakers are farting out? LOL .. always put the cord between guitar and strap

the chording sounds ok in the scoopy bit, but the low end is just so damn flabby it hurts my ears ..

aaaaaa, fun fun .. that gainless marshall and clean part is begging for a 2nd guitar and some drums for a free for all jam.. damn man, you got some skillz

all that flub is mic clipping....not the amp/speaker..and being whackadoodle doesn't help :D...I have a much better (i.e. NOT whackadoodle) clip of NOTB on the page somewhere..LOL

Thanks Davey! :)

Have fun..on my way home from work :D

Re: OK here's a clip of that japanese Les Paul

Sounds good to my ears, just too much bass. It also sounds distant, like the mic isn't close to the speaker.
