Ok, I'm a convert...(verbzilla content)

I just got my Verbzilla today. I was intrigued about all the positive feedback I had heard about em on the forums, though I've been a bit spoiled by my 68' showman's reverb :D.

Enter the verbzilla. I've never liked the reverb on my H&K edition tube 20. I always felt like it was a bit weak, and its noisy as all hell anyways. So, I plugged this pedal into the FX loop.

The result: verrrrry nice. The 63' spring setting is pretty damned close to the built-in reverb on my showman. A little different, but very, very convincing. The plate setting is a little more modern sounding. Probably my 2nd favorite setting on the pedal. The others...eh...mostly special application kinda stuff. I can imagine that "octo" would probably sound pretty cool with the slow gear clone that I'm building. I've still got some exploring to do with this pedal though.

I'll admit, I'm usually pretty skeptical of line 6 products. I own a PODxt, but I view that as more of a pratice tool, or a quick-and-easy-though-not-quite-professional recording tool. I had a MM-4 before, and wasn't very impressed with it.

I'm happy with this one though. The only real problem I have with the pedal is that it's a freakin brick. It weighs more than my boss DD-20 gigadelay. Well worth the extra weight on my pedalboard though ;).

The next step is trying it with my KRANK. That amp could use some nice 'verb.

Edit: Just weighed the line 6 versus my boss twin pedal. The DD-20 was about 2 pounds 3 ounces, and the Verbzilla was about 2 pounds 4 ounces. Crazy.

I'll get mine this week - can't wait!

Anyone here compare the verbzilla to the Boss digital reverb pedal? I have a boss and am wondering if I am missing out on anything.

I think Lew had the RV-5 and switched to the Verbzilla.... Use the search function, and I'm sure you will find it..

Did the search and found it was an RV-3. I am currently using an RV-5.

Ah, sorry, then I don't know.

Does everyone plug the pedal in the Effects loop? Does it work as well in front of the amp?

Reverb should be in the loop unless there is no loop. It almost never sounds good in front of pre-amp overdrive.

Thanks a lot for the info guitarded.

Now that I remember, I have to ask Lew, I believe he uses it with his old tweeds...

My bassman and champ don't have EX loop but it works like a charm.

Re: Ok, I'm a convert...(verbzilla content)

I've been plugging my own Verbzilla right into the front of my 73 Marshall and it works great there...

I use mine with my 50's tweed Fender amps...sounds great in front of the amp. Lew
