OK, I'm going to try a Slash bridge pickup.

Re: OK, I'm going to try a Slash bridge pickup.

I'll assume it's going in a Les Paul styled guitar? You should be very happy with it. Tighter bass than an A2 pickup has any business having, fat single notes and a surprising amount of power for an A2 in the 8.8 k range. I had many pickups in my Les Paul over the years but the Slash Bridge was my Favorite, I never could totally bond with the neck pickup though, really warm and singing but just too soft on the low end no matter how I tried to adjust it (I'll blame 50% on that Les Paul, other than the Jazz or 59, everything was mushy on the low end with the neck pickup). Back to the bridge, it really works for a lot of musical styles in a Les Paul, I think the Slash moniker polarizes some people, but really it's just a great hotter A2 Paf-ish type of pickup.

Yeah, I am thinking that if it didn't say Slash on it, it would even be talked about more. There's a lot of hard rock haters that are put off by the name, but there is no need- these are excellent pickups, and a different variation on PAF-type output.

Love 'em, though I too am left a little ? when it comes to the neck version.

A lot depends on the guitar, ice had them in 2 LP'S, in my 81 Custom the bridge pickup was really thin sounding, but the neck pickup was amazing. Then, I put them in my 08 Studio and the neck was really dark and muddy, but the bridge was perfect
