OK, let's talk openly about your pedal fetish.

Aceman

I am your doctor of love!
My name is Aceman, and I have a pedal fetish. You know what I mean. A specific type of pedal that you really need one of, but you have five. Or pedals all the same color. Or maybe it is brand specific. Or a special chip, or year, or shape & size, or artist...

Well, here is mine: Let's be honest - no one needs this many Tremolo pedals.

Re: OK, let's talk openly about your pedal fetish.

Great thread idea!

I have far too many phasers but Fuzz is the one that I just keep acquiring... some duplicates, but still. Not pictured is a Wampler Velvet, Analogman Sunface NKT-275 and Foxrox Captain Coconut 2.

The crazy thing is they all sound different and do different things!

Re: OK, let's talk openly about your pedal fetish.

Devi Evers (I know.) Bit, US, Rocket (which is a Soda Meiser and Vintage Fuzz Master chained together,) and a NoFi ZG at the moment. I continue to want a Shoe Gazer and a Hyperion (and a Hypno-Mangler...)

Maybe not as "bad" as some people in terms of the quantity I've collected and the fact that the pedals (mostly) sound different but... I don't use them too much at all. I just like to plug them on for five minutes every month or so, then go back to my Fulldrive.

Re: OK, let's talk openly about your pedal fetish.

Haha, I have too many Marshall-in-a-box pedals. But they're all different! I swear!

I could see myself getting too many EHX pedals, as I quite like the brushed steel enclosures. They just feel good to the touch.

You wanna unload that blue Fuzz Face?!

Re: OK, let's talk openly about your pedal fetish.

I think Fuzz may be the most common of all pedal fetishes.

Re: OK, let's talk openly about your pedal fetish.

My pedal fetish is having as few as possible on my board.

I currently use just four.
Front: Joyo Tuner and a Jet City Afterburner (OD + boost)
Loop: Boss GE7 and a EHX Memory Toy.

More than 6 and I feel a bit stressed.

Re: OK, let's talk openly about your pedal fetish.

ODs/distortions, Sparkle Drive Mod, OCD, Wampler Plextortion, Paisley Drive, MXR Dist.+, T-Rex Michael Angelo Batio, Duncan Power Grid Distortion, and I know I'm forgetting a couple

Re: OK, let's talk openly about your pedal fetish.

I like delay pedals...especially really long delays that allow some sort of foot expression control. It is a pretty small category, but they are generally expensive, so I can't have them all, anyway. These days I am using a Fractal for pedals, so they are all virtual.

Re: OK, let's talk openly about your pedal fetish.

I think it's because one fuzz can sound fantastic, or terrible, depending on how you use it. It's easy to get de-railed on a search for the "perfect" one with the least compromise, or to buy one to use for five seconds in a song.

I don't really focus on modulation/time-based effects at all.

Which tremolo do you like best? I've always been intrigued by the MXR one, but I don't believe they make it anymore.

Diaz Tremodillo, hands down my fave. #2 probably the Dunlop.

Re: OK, let's talk openly about your pedal fetish.

Tremolo is probably my favorite effect, but I only have one :(. I've been thinking about picking up a Latitude at some point, but I'm happy with my current tremolo, so it's hard to justify when I have other stuff I want.

Overdrives. By seeking out the most definitive circuits, it's taught me a lot about how to make any particular amp have extended gain that sounds the way I want.

I don't have a fetish, but I have one too many delays and plexi pedals, only cause I was tone chasing and never sold any. They all do something good but none of them are THE ONE.
