Let us know or pm me if and when you get those mags from Mads as I am terribly curious to see if they were not charged correctly.

Even if they were, in transit there's a lot of bad things that can happen to an alnico mag to lose its charge, to a point it won't work satisfactorily with any p'up.

From the description given, I think that would be the case.

Also, Lt. K, did you not somewhere back in time mention a place to get magnets other than AddFX? Maybe they are not as pricey as Throbak.

Mojotone.com, StewMac.com, Philadelphialuthiertools.com, allparts.com, all sell magnets. I haven't found another retailer other than AddFX that carries UOA5 mags, though.

EDIT: I've just found out mojotone.com carries UOA5 mags as well.

I wouldn't consider Throbak as a "retailer", but yes, not only he offers UOA5 mags, he even has two different UOA5 flavors to offer.

At a price, though.

Yeah hes not cheap... he increased his prices recently too... when i bought mags from him 3 months ago or so they were 15 bucks a whack.. now they are 20

I took the Super 57 and stuck a Polished A5 in it and it sounded pretty good.
