...and bought a Bogner Fish reissue.

Is it that good? Yes.
Is it worth the price? Yes
Is it better than anything else out there? No
Is there something else better than the Fish? No

And don't ask for pics, there are a ton on the web that look just like the Fish I bought.

It is true that when you get to a certain level of quality, there are just different flavors, not better or worse. The Fish is spectacular, but I won't sell any of my Mesas as they are equally spectacular, just a different flavor to them (I think the Fish is still a little intimidated sitting next to the Road King)

Now to get a power amp to do it justice.....off on the hunt for a Mesa 2:90.......

Jesus H.

That's quite an investment! Congrats from a fellow Bogner user!

Dibs if you ever sell the thing. :D

After you pick up the Mesa 2:90, get yourself an Eventide and you'll never leave your house! :)

I don't want to leave now!

I just ordered a Fryette 2/90/2...As I was trolling the web I found a place that would sell one for the same price as the Mesa 2:90 with free shipping (and I have plenty of Mesa and thought I would try something new - VHT/Fryette seems to be a popular match with Soldano and Bogner pre-amps)

I am thinking of going the route of a TC G-Force Pro. I have the G-Major and I love the sound of it, I would just like a better build quality.

The power amp won't be here for a week or two, so I have been entertaining myself by running it through a Peavey Classic 120/120 (and still sounds great).

The Ecstacy has a lot of options, but if there's one thing I wish I could do with it, it's turning the power section off, so I could use it for direct recording or with headphones. That's about the only option it doesn't have. Have you tried recording direct with it yet? I'd be curious to hear how well that would work.

I still don't think anyone in the history of amplification has ever come up with a better pre section.
