Old Harmony archtop guitar question

Saw a killer old harmony yesterday - kinda wants it. But didn't have a logo at all, just blank headstock. Guitar was in great shape and played very nice. But the logo thing probably means the headstock was sanded or something eh? Kind of a turn off even though it was a suite axe.

oh - so my question is, did harmony ever make some guitars w/out a logo (or any other writing/symbols for that matter) on the headstock?

they were either glued on or decals since a lot of the were sold under a number of different brands

ah, thanks wattage - probably just fell off. it has an original case. maybe it's in there!

You can't be serious. Mile high action with piano wire black diamond strings they could have used to suspend the Golden gate.. Heh, we all cut our teeth on those back in the late 60's to mid 70's.

My local guitar shop kind of specializes in finding those old Harmony and Stella guitars and they do serious work on them to make them very, very playable! Some come in and just can't be saved but some of them become great players!

I own a Harmony H44 (1956) But it has a swirl on the head-stock because as Scott said they wee made for a lot of other stores back then so they just put a decoration on it. Harmony's are good guitars, not great but good. The Archtops have a cool kind of tone to them so I wouldn't let the decal influence your decision to buy it(depending on the price). A photo would be more helpful though.... Even though the head-stock is not very visible in the photo you can see it does not have "Harmony" on the headstock.
