old marshall head

Re: old marshall head

Some Parks have that, there are some oddballs out there!!
Have seen my share of those:D
Still trying to see if I can get some more on those!
It looks like a 100 watter version of the old 45 watter head!
Only thing that is really strange...where are the caps??

Re: old marshall head

Hi Peter,
Why not just upload ALL of the pictures to photobucket, then provide us with a link to view them there. Would save you a bit of frustration and help us figure out what you have, although I'll admit I'm worthless in identifying old amps, I'm pretty curious myself. Photos of the front and back panel though, please!

Re: old marshall head

noisenet i havent a clue how to use photobucket.i was lucky getting the photos posted that i did

peter

They don't have instructions on the site? I use photobucket all the time and it's always been easy to use...

You could also try attaching the photos directly to the post... under the message entry window there's an "Additional Options" section and a button that says, "manage attachments."

Re: old marshall head

Heya Peter,
That's weird, last time I was here, the last two photos didn't show up, only the embedded link. Weird. I even tried pasting the URL into a different session and it didn't work.

Nonetheless, I don't think it's a Marshall. Seems to me to be an old Park (made by Marshall I think, though I'm not sure). My guess is someone stuck a Marshall plate on there to make it look like a Marshall. I know lots of people do that cause a bunch of Marshall stuff looks cool.

So, how's this amp sound?

kevlar3000
thanks for the links my amp looks a lot like them.does it matter there being el34 valves in it.as i mentioned in an earlier post there was kt66 scratched on the chassis next to one of the valves.

Re: old marshall head

They can be tweaked to run with a number of power tubes including kt66's.

That definitely looks like a Park to me though. Parks were made by Marshall and were Marshall's in every way that counts. Once upon a time Marshall signed an exclusive distribution deal that turned out to be a huge mistake because the distributor couldn't move enough product to meet demand. Marshall got around it by introducing the Park line which is a rebranded Marshall of that era.

Re: old marshall head

thanks everyone for your help
the architech so there should not be much difference in the sound from a marshall plexi and a park plexi

Re: old marshall head

rid it might not be the right cab for it.if you look at rear view photo, look at the left side of the chassis it has to be angled from the rest of the chassis so you can get the bolt in to secure it.
