This is from the Live Sentence home video. It's great, aside from Bonnett's voice crapping out. :)

Great job of screwing up your guitar cable and then not having a spare one, dumbass.

Rising Force was the only thing I could ever latch on to from Yngwie. I still listen to that album now. Aside from Rising Force, I like to watch him play in videos sometimes because he's such a great player. I like his rhythms a lot too, like in Now Your Ships are Burned.

I like his older stuff as well, the first two rising force records and all the stuff before with alcatraz and steeler.

Yeah cool vid. I posted this the other day in the "people you respected alot more after seeing them" thread or whatever it was called. Yngwie blew me away when I saw him with Alcatrazz.

jeff IMHO i think he had some of his best moments with that band. kree nokoorie, jet to jet, island in the sun, hiroshima mon amor, etc were brillant to me:14:

Effing sweet. Trilogy is the album that got me into him. From there I went backwards then forward. I like his entire catalog... Sure some riffs are recycled but every album is completely solid. I was extremely impressed with Relentless. Yng's got a lot of music left in him.

notice the stock necks on both guitars (no scallops, stock nut).. killer playing and his famous vibrato

I agree, even IF you dont really like him you HAVE to admit the guy has amazing command of the strat and spent many a hour making his fingers bleed!:naughty:

I've seen that firsthand. He caught his right ringfinger on something on the guitar and was bleeding EVERYWHERE. It only added to the epicness of the show.

I'd never seen this one before, so thanks for posting it.

When I was a young teen, I was amazed by Yngwie and tried my best to learn whatever I could decipher of his. He's a true master in every sense of the word, and I honestly get sick of people always adding a disclaimer before mentioning him - something like "even if you don't like him or his music".....that's F'in BS.

I was so stoked when he did his SD interview live on the forum. I finally got to ask him the question I'd always wanted to ask him, and I got a proper answer. That made my day.

Me - Good to see you here Mr. Malmsteen. One of the first concerts I went to as a young teenager was Yngwie Malmsteen, Talas, and Sound Barrier at the Hollywood Palladium in '85.

I remember thinking "this guy doesn't sound like anyone else" and figured you could probably play just about anything you set your mind to, but were trying to carve your own identity.

My question is this......if you could add another LIVING guitar player's entire musical mind and technical skill set to your own, so that you'd have everything they're capable of added to your capabilities, who would you choose?

Yngwie - I don't think like that. But I'll have to say, Allen Holdsworth. He does some stuff that's so outside the box.
