Old School "Miracle Cloth" = "Gorgomyte" = Best Fret Restorer EVER!
I've been extremely impressed with the "Gorgomyte" cloths sold by JJ's and licensed by GHS. The ease at which they bring nasty, rough and tarnished frets and dingy fingerboards to mirror-like sexiness is unreal.
If you've never cleaned your tarnished, grungy frets with one of these cloths, you are missing out!
Here's the best part... after some research, I decided to try the classic "Miracle Cloth" and I'm pleased to confirm it's really the same great stuff as the name-brand "Gorgomyte" cloth, only less expensive and more readily available! A single cloth will do many guitars or one guitar many times. Simply cut the cloth into small 2" squares and store in a Zip-Loc bag to keep them fresh.
I've used these on Rosewood, Ebony and finished Maple boards with incredible results! The boards look so renewed afterward and the frets are gleaming after just 5 minutes or so of effort. I wish everything in life was as easy!
I just restored a maple-necked 1980's era Strat copy tonight. The board and frets look better than new! Still a bit hesitant to try it on an unfinished Maple board, but I can't recommend these enough for 99% of guitarists out there.
Truly the industry's best kept secret
