Old vintage Fender Reverb 6x10

Re: Old vintage Fender Reverb 6x10

I had one of these beasts and used it for 2 gigs.....sounded great...You folks who said loud and clean are on the mark.

Transporting these things is what made me trade it off...pain in the back and in the ass!

I had one as well and used it for one outdoor gig...then I robbed the 10" alnico CTS speakers out of it and sold it cheap. Strangely enough, it wasn't nearly as loud as some Twins I've had, even with the six 10's.

Re: Old vintage Fender Reverb 6x10

Most info has been covered here already...

Be warned...there are 100 watt versions and 135 watt versions. The 100 watt versions sound much better IMHO than the 135 watters...I just don't like the Fender UL amps.

These are beasts of amps...mostly heavy and the size of them makes them hard to move and carry in almost any way.

If you want to know what they sound like listen to the first Top Petty and the Heartbreakers album...Tom recorded all his parts with a 64 Strat that belonged to Mike and used a Super Six that belonged to the studio.

Value...truth is...not much.

They are not really desirable to many people at all.
