Older humbucker labeled BJ

I just got an old '84 Jackson Rhoads Student for peanuts!!!
When I went to inspect the pickups I found older labels on a jazz in the neck position and what looks like an Invader in the bridge labeled BJ.
Anyone ever see one of these? It has the big ole round Allen wrench pole pieces found on the invader but I could not coordinate the BJ label with that pickup. Just checking to see if anyone can confirm that this is indeed an invader.

Thanks!!

Hey. you probably got a JBJ with the first J part rubbed off ( no pun inended) .
The "J' in that nomenclature is relevant to "MJ ", the master pickup winder and in my guess, the quality control supervisor for pickups made in a specific department of the Duncan shop producing a specilaized line of pickups, and certified with these initials .

Oh boy! Here comes a jokester! I welcome it; knew it was bound to happen, ha ha!
The label is only enough room to have the letters JB stamped on it. I'll take some pics soon and add them. Thanx!!!

Re: Older humbucker labeled BJ

Maybe it was 8J instead of BJ. Does it sound great? If it is then you should keep it man, almost every member in this forum always keep their "J" Duncan pickup because they are made by our only own MoJo queen MJ!
Consider yourself blessed! :friday:

Re: Older humbucker labeled BJ

I could be wrong, but I always thought the old pickups with J meant Juarez....Maricella Juarez.

Re: Older humbucker labeled BJ

Its an Invader B ridge model wound by Maricella J uarez.

Re: Older humbucker labeled BJ

OK Thanx folks! It does sound wonderful. The neck is labeled JNJ. Guess that means it was wound by the same lady?

Re: Older humbucker labeled BJ

Yes. I would guess thats a Jazz Neck wound by her.
Many people say shes the best winder and her pickups sound better than any other winders. I dont know if its true or not, but I was shocked (pleasantly) to snag an old JBJ on ebay the other week for £22 (about $33?)!

Re: Older humbucker labeled BJ

I can say that it seems to be the perfect combo for this fiddle running through my Mesa Mark II B. Godly combination!

Sounds like a vintage invasdr for sure. I picked up an 80s BC Rich Assasin with a pickup havimg two rows of hex screws and a label "BJ" which through research turned out to be a vintage Full Shred I would expect that yours is a little later model that cane with the larger "button" hex screws.
