OLP MM1 PU's

A few weeks ago I picked up an OLP MM1 on a whim for $100. It is easily the best cheapo guitar I've ever played. I am in love with the bridge pickup. Does anyone know what kind of pickups it has? I once heard someone mention Rockfield pickups, but I have no clue as to what they actually are. Does anyone know anything? Peace~

Re: OLP MM1 PU's

I have only ever inspected the innards of an OLP bass. The bass pickup carried no distinguishing markings or labels. I assumed it to be MIC.

The problem with making a visual inspection of your guitar's pickups is that you will have interfered with the height adjustments - such as they are.

Additionally, while the OLP bridge pickup may suit the budget tonewoods of its intended host guitar, this is no guarantee that it would suit anything else.

An acquaintance of mine owned a succession of Axis/Wolfgang style guitars. As soon as he deviated from setting them up the Eddie way, the sound changed. The pickup mounting, neck pitch angle and having the bridge resting on the face of the guitar body all seemed to contribute.

a friend has an olp guitar and the pickups are mounted from the rear behind a plate so if yours is the same then you can visually check without messing with anything.

Also if you change them out and it is the same then you need long leg pickups.
