If "OLP" is "Old Les Pauls", they're great.
:laugh2:

as for Officially Licenced Product = cheap rip off of Music Man guitars
I have yet to find one that I liked.
Rock On :smoker:

Re: Olp

I have thought about buying one as a project guitar.. I've been told that almost all of them rquire a complete setup before they can be played.. But that won't be a problem if you purchase them from a guitar store, they should do it for free or atleast cheap, when you buy stuff from them. My local store does.

Anyway, I was thinking about buying the Benji Madden signature.. ONLY because of the maple fretboard and the MM4 bodyshape. Maybe install a Wilkinson trem on it.. and some other magic.. Hmm.. I need to check out the prices..

Re: Olp

Well I like cheap guitars. Can I put a JB in it and rock? My #1 guitar is a carlo robelli. I have a Modded marshall and the carlo sounds great. Are the OLP as good as an epi?

Re: Olp

I would say more like Squier. Truthfully, I haven't looked that well into them, but I've handled several in the shop I used to work at. I wasn't very impressed with what I saw. I would just go down to your local shop and play a bunch. You might find one you like enough to buy. People have different opinions on guitars, sometimes you just have to have it in your hands to make the decision.

Re: Olp

to be honest, ive tried 2 just to try them, and they were both crap. some of the worst guitars ive ever played. squire is, imo, far better, which sounds weird. get one of the single bridge humbucker squires and you can deffinately rock with that.

Re: Olp

+1, on all counts. I love cheap guitars, but I've never played an OLP that impressed me in any way. But you might find The One...

Re: Olp

The main reason I was looking at those is the neck. I figured the necks would be somewhat close in size to the axis. I need a thin confortable neck for my tendonitis.
I read somewhere the necks were thin

Try looking for a used Korean Peavey Wolfgang.Ive heard that they're quality isn't that far off the US standards, anything remotly closse to the quality of a US peavey Wolfgang is gonna be excellent.

Re: Olp

I like the OLP Stingray bass, i dislike basswood but on that bass it sounded great. Haven't tried any guitars from them...
