I have one, it´s the master piece of my setup. Sometimes I think it a little muddy, but it depends a lot of where you have put (like in the input, the return, in a power amp with 4x12). But it´s lots of versatility, you can turn on in various wayys and if you have a little pacience to adjust, it sounds veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeery great. the problem is to use the 3 channels, because its only one gain ctrl, vol and eq

SO you like it a lot then! DO you also push your 5150's gain channel with it? I've found that doing this will give me the fattest, clearest and most rude type of distortion!

Thanks for clarifying, but I was also hoping you'd give some input on this since you puhsed your Marshall with one.

I already did a search but I prefer a more personal approach to discussing gear, hence this thread. Thanks anyway!

I meant that in the sense of: there are certainly at least a half dozen in-depth v-twin post by myself, kind of a "backdoor" to my opinions ;)

I loved my V TWIN, and I still ponder getting the RackMount version.

Mesa makes AMAZING preamps with true tube tone, no one can match it!

I used to sub in a 12AT7 and 12AU7 into position 1 in my V TWIN. A trick I read on HC. works like a charm and gievs you cleaner gain. You will still have mean saturation on the SOLO channel, but it just makes things a little more transparent and sweeter should you want to do Hard Rock.

The 12AT7 works best, if I remember correctly. Amazing tone for live and studio - something different than any MEsa I have ever played - sweet, balanced, saturated WITH TIGHT LOWS ( seriously!)
