On the mini-wah front...

Prayin' to Cheeses
Just saw that Wilson Effects is planning to release a tuneable wah in a mini form factor. Wish I had known before I pulled the trigger on the Dunlop mini.

That having been said the Dunlop mini wah surprised me with how good it sounds and how easy it is to use. Still adjusting to the small form factor but I have to say it's a great pedal. The Wilson is likely to be even more awesome.

I am a mini Morley guy. Side by side it sounds exactly like my vintage first-gen Morley.

I just ordered a Wilson mod board for my Vox wah...

But while I was on his site I noticed that he is modding the Dunlop minis if you're interested.

This is good news. I would like a mini Power Wah or Bad Horsie 2.

Re: On the mini-wah front...

It's a cool idea and bound to be useful to lots of players, but it's not for me. I'm a sloppy guitarist and a clumsy human being. I'd fall over if I tried to use a mini wah.

Re: On the mini-wah front...

I gave in and bought a full size Crybaby Classic GCB-95F

Nobody had the mini wah in stock around here in Europe and I needed a wah for a show a few weeks back.

I thought the same thing I have big clumsy feet for a little dude but I have been fine.

I would have thought the same thing about myself, but I had no trouble adjusting to the Mini right away. The trick is to use your heel, not your toes, as the contact point. And the sound is fantastic! The stock setting can be a little bright, but the Vintage and Low settings are amazing. I wish Dunlop had made the mode switch an external control, or else left a trap door opening in the bottom cover for quick adjustments.

Re: On the mini-wah front...

You can get a drop in PCB, jacks, and knobs from Wilson. You need to drill a hole or two though for the extra controls.

Re: On the mini-wah front...

When did rock get so weak that guitar players were seeking out tiny wah pedals into lunchbox amps? LOL

It's supposed to be bigger and more bombastic, isn't it? :D

Re: On the mini-wah front...

To me the coolest looking wahs were always the big ole klunky morleys that you plugged into a wall socket. That says Rock & Roll. But for my home practice rig, a wee wah is perfect.

I love my first gen Morley but it just takes up too much real estate on the board. The thing sounds incredible I would never get rid of it.

They're trying to simulate stage volumes at record player levels. It's the latest trend isn't it ?
It's stupid and it's killing rock and roll.

Re: On the mini-wah front...

I like lunchbox size amps and mini wahs. Somehow, I don't think I will contribute to Rock n Roll dying, but if you can connect those dots, go for it!

Re: On the mini-wah front...

I don't personally see rock and roll dying because of small amps and mini-pedals. In fact I think it'll be stronger because those are easier to transport than big huge amps and pedal boards.
