King Midas to Cheap Guitars

So I find myself once again only using the bridge pickup. Time to revamp my guitar collection. I'll have real pics when they arrive, but for now, I've got these on the way:

Not too keen on the black one, so I'm looking for an orange one now.

Godin Redlines? Nice.

More important question: How are you going to refinish them?

Re: One by one by the northern tribe you fall/One by one die by the strongest of them

hell ya dude. I daresay this is possibly the best NGD you've had in a while.

Those Redlines are killer guitars. Really solidly built, excellent fretwork/setup and they play really nicely too.

Re: One by one by the northern tribe you fall/One by one die by the strongest of them

One day, people will realize that a rosewood fingerboard on an all black guitar doesn't work. They look good though - didn't know Godin offered a single hum version. Bridge looks particularly solid.

Yeah, I kinda wish they had maple necks on this model. As for the bridge, it looks pretty solid on the back too:

^^ Indeed.

Dyeing the rosewood is another possibility. More passive pu options would also be welcome.

I didn't know they made a Shark version; seems cool, but comes only in black :thumbsdow:.

The red one I ordered actually does have a passive pickup in it. (I ordered used ones.) It looks like a Dimarzio, here's hoping it's one I like. I'm thinking the Steve's Special would be absolutely killer in one of these.

Who are you and what have you done with dominus?

I know, right? Just about all of the guitars I refinished were either black or some type of cheap looking wood finishes and needed to be redone. These look really nice stock. (Once I find an orange one I'll sell the black one.)

If it makes you feel better, I probably will put inlay stickers on these. I wish they had gone with no dots instead of small dots along the edge.

Why not just keep what you've got and use the bridge pickups ?????????

If this is a reason to revamp your guitar collection I suggest ; Seek Help.

How to use a pickup switch

Using seperate volume controls

Yeah, but I never use the tone knob either. I could always remove the neck pickup too, and leave a few holes in the guitar. (Less string pull, and I won't be hitting the pickup or ring when I'm digging in.) A while back I would always have black guitars, and used acoustic pickguard material to cover the neck pickup cavity. When I was using the Dean Vendetta guitars, eventually the filler I used would shrink. Technically, I don't use the volume knob either (leaving it turned up all the way), but these guitars have pretty much all the features I want, look nice, and are made in North America.

Also, with this hardtail bridge, I'll probably be able to have the action set lower than I do with the tune-o-matic.

So, yeah, I think these guitars will be a good fit for how I play.
