One Humbucker one volume with push-pull for split

I've got a P-Rails for my charvel build. I want to use 1 volume pot with a push pull, so I can split between Humbucking and P-90ing operation. I don't want to have the single coil option, or drill extra holes in the guitar for micro-switches (not at this stage anyway)

I am referring to the excellent wiring diagrams on the SD website, and I think the "One HB 1 Vol with split" is the most relevant diagram

can someone tell me, or point me to a resource that will tell me what colour wires from the P-Rail I should target to achieve the HB/P-90 split as per this diagram, please?

That diagram should be the right one. If you wire exactly like that then you should have humbucker (vol down) and p90 (vol up). If for some reason it's the singlecoil that's active when you pull the vol up then just reverse the black and green connections, bare is still (and always) connected to where it is now which is ground.

But wire to this diagram and you shall have what you're looking for.

So, I've finally put it together. LOOKS: just what I wanted. The P-rails does the hot-rod Charvel thing down to a tee. I've mounted the pickup from the back of the guitar/ shortened the springs - fully adjustable. SOUNDS: not sure yet - I have to take the neck off and shave about 1.5 - 2.0 mm off the heel to make it sit deeper in the pocket, so i can get some action

Looking great. Is the hardware gold plated? I can't tell from the pictures but either way the guitar looks really good with the 3-tone 'burst, the flametop and maple neck.

About the action, you can try adding a flat piece of wood or cardboard as a shim on the neck pocket, below the last fret. Maybe you can get a bit of an angle enough to get the action right.

everything possible is gold plated (I think - or gold look)
I'm trying to avoid shimming if possible - I've got it into my head that a flat join will provide maximum sustain. I figure I need to take 1.5-2.0 mm off the heel of the neck to bring it down sufficiently
