One of my bands

Alright guys, heres somethin I recorded with one of my bands a month or so ago. Its not really my usual style, we have pretty varied influences.

My guitar is the thicker of the two, and all the wierd noises and effected gutars are me too. It was my Epi LP with CC/A2P, into my Marshall JMP 50 head and a greenback loaded 1960a. The dirt was from a stock Rat II. The other more jangly guitar was a stock MIM tele into my amp. The amp was close mic'd with an SM57.

Re: One of my bands

Sweet style. And changing the rythm is a great idea.I would like to say that the vocals need a different micing and effects on it maybe. But i like the guitars ,and the guitar sound is cutting well!

Re: One of my bands

Yeah the vocals were just done with the same SM57, its all we had sitting around on that day. I wasn't too keen on them either. But cheers for the positives, its nice to know where we are going right as well as wrong!

Re: One of my bands

Definately dig it man, works really well

The crazy sounds are cool too.

I'd tighten the song up a little bit though.....just needs a couple of tweaks.

Also i would made the singer do 1 or 2 more takes.

Re: One of my bands

Yeah, its not perfectly performed, i'm not the tightest of players. What I lack in talent I have to make up for in noise, hence the lack of any real solo!

Re: One of my bands

I really like the energy of this song. The vocals are mixed about 40% too hot for my liking (and a little pitchy at times) and the kick and snare are too far back in the mix, but listening past that it's a cool song.

Guitar tones are totally appropriate and sound good.

Nice job, man!

Re: One of my bands

Yeah I totally agree with all of that, the bassist did the mixing for this one, i'll get the whole file off him and do my own mix soon. Cheers for the comments, i'm pretty pleased with the song itself.
