One pedal

So, since Im new to the forum, this may have been asked but currently too lazy to look. I havent used or owned any pedals in a really long time. So my question is, if you could own just one type of pedal what would it be? Doesnt have to be a particular brand, but more delay, reverb, phaser, etc.

Re: One pedal

One pedal only for gigging? Overdrive/Boost. -I'd be surprised if this wasn't most peoples response -as reverb/eq/vibrato can be solved on the amp

One pedal only for a desert island? probably something Delay related.

One Pedal only for recording? A multi-effects workstation pedal -just to widen the pallet.

Re: One pedal

It would be a boost of some sort then a reverb. I'm into making my guitars sound a big as possible right now.

Re: One pedal

Sorry, wasnt clear on, Id say desert island. I dont gig, nor record and am happy getting away in my room with my equipment for a bit.

Re: One pedal

Is price an issue?

I will assume "yes" and that it needs to be a single function pedal. No Tri-decca phase/flange/tremolo/phasermatic pedals....

Depends on your amp....

A mild mannered tube amp that needs more - An Overdrive pedal. Perhaps a Boss SD-1 or a TS-9, depending on your taste. If you want even more - I really really like an Ibanez SD9 modded....

If a raging distorto beast with a loop - A good old DD-3 Delay. Get a DD-7 just for fun.

Re: One pedal

I'd go with delay pedal too. They can be used in varied ways for adding depth & space to the base sound.

One pedal

For $99 I got rid of my pedalboard and just use this for everything- amp > noise gate > modulation > delay > reverb. You can setup ~50 pedal boards and stomp through them 1 per song or 1 per song part, whatever needed.

These kind of pedals were fun to play with back in the day - have you actually A/B compared it to the various things it's working to imitate?

Re: One pedal

EHX Worm. It's multifunction pedal, but I only want it for it's tremolo, which makes brilliant mid/upper mid heavy boost when fixed at the other end of it's range.
