One pedal

Re: One pedal

These kind of pedals were fun to play with back in the day - have you actually A/B compared it to the various things it's working to imitate?

Yes, I still own my Marshall JCM900, Orange AD50, Hiwatt DR103, with matching 4x12 cabs, as well as Fender tweed Twin, blackface SuperReverb, VOX AC30s, as well as MXR and Boss pedals it mimics. This is why I use the Zoom. Because I can get close to the sound I need and like in situations where the original equipment is not practical to haul around and set up.

I'm going to be living in an big RV in a few years -so this kind of stuff is on my mind -as the Amps and Instruments will have to go (except One Fender Combo, One Vox Combo, and a Tele, one Center Block Semi Hollow, one humbucking tunomatic solid body, and an acoustic -haven't decided which.

My music fire sale will be an all timer.

That still sounds like a lot for an RV.

Re: One pedal

Since it’s a desert island, I could always crank my Super loud enough to get it sounding good. Giving up the Green Rhino would make me really sad, but I’d go with a Crybaby.

It is -but I don't do a lot of things other people use typical RV space for -like watching a big TV in a living room format.

Place to do Music, Art, and read Books and I'm good

plus it's going to be a large Class A RV . -4 Guitars isn't that big of deal hanging on the walls of a BUS

Summers in Alaska, Winters wherever in the lower 50 I want or wherever theres a gig or good mountain to hike

Re: One pedal

Desert Island pedal, a multi-effect unit.

^this

Boss multi units are always on CL for dirt cheap. Try running it straight into the effect's return and use the Boss od/distortion for gain.

As for a single effect, I'd say a dedicated looper with hi-hat clicks or preset beats and quantization.
And if we are talking a single real "effect" ,,,,then I'd go with a good versatile and adjustable phaser before all else.

Re: One pedal

It depends... Does the amp has enough gain ? If not I need something like a Tube Screamer.

If the amp has enough gain I'd take either a fuzz or a delay (or both if you can smuggle).

(I love the flanging effect... but can live without.)

That had better be a really big RV. I don't think Brett Michaels has that much in his.

Re: One pedal

Man - you guys just HAVE to cheat

Andromeda, Zoom, Boss G100's.....get with the spirit of the game!

But since the cheaters are out now - I'll go with this:

Re: One pedal

Amp has plenty of gain for me and then some, why mess with Silver Jubilee gain.

This has gotten me into wanting to start getting back into pedals now. Might have to start looking into some.

Yeah keep the Tele !!!

You could have one Amp and three pedals, not just one.

Re: One pedal

This question seems to come up a lot lately. If you don't know if you want a delay, reverb, phaser, etc. go buy a used multi-effect pedal. There are some really good ones to be found on the secondary market for $50 - $100. Play around with it and find out what type of effects you like. Chances are you might find a use for all of them or might be like Angus Young and have no use for them what so ever. If you do some serious searching around you might be able to find a BOSS ME-50 around $100

Re: One pedal

Eventide Pitch Factor.

I normally use it for studio work but in this case would do fine in front of an amp (has inst/line level selector).
