One Pickup, Tone, No Hum?

I'm building a single pickup fender clone, like a 60's musicmaster, with just one pickup. 'Cept tougher (hotter and louder)
Does anyone have any recommendations for a hot hum-cancelling single coil, and what are opinions on position? neck or bridge?

Sounds like a Custom to me. That pup will do it all, and then some.

Hot Stack would be a nice one, as would any of the "twin-blade" mini-hums, though not true singles. Placement mostly depends on your style, taste and amp settings--I'd actually go mid.

I was curious as to what a "Musicmaster" was, so I searched and found this great link:

Musicmaster/Duo-Sonic Gallery

This looks like it could be a cool project. Whatever you decide, post pics, (and maybe clips), when you get it together. :)

Thanks for the suggestions, The hot stack looks like the way to go..
As soon as she's finished, expect some pics..At this point my pickguard design is an approximation of a mosrite, so it's gonna be a bastard between Johnny Ramones mosrite and a Fender Musicmaster..Rock either way!

You might want to look into the DMZ V.V. series Solo, or Heavey Blues (stacks ...sort of), as into their fast track series ... Fast Track 2, Tone Zone and Super Distortion versions of the fast tracks series as well (I forget what they call them), they are side by side rails. Those for bridge, for neck the hotter end of the V.V. series down to about the Blues, and FT series from the Fast Track 1,Chopper, Pro Track (kinda a paf sound though for the pro track).
I thought Kinman had some new hot number also that is very recent? Didn't e cover this already ... deja vu...
