i realized that a Twin would be way too heavy, and that i would be fine with a Deluxe Reverb Reissue.

I play it every time i go to GC and love the tones, any reliability issues i should know about? And, since i havent cranked it in store (for the sake of me not getting kicked out), by around where does it start to break up? Lew, anybody?

And what do you think is the possibility that i could bargain my way to a lower price at GC? I bought my 1000 dollar strat there, my dad bought his sound gear Ibanez bass, two PA's, SM57, and a boatload of other stuff.

i bargained nearly $200 off my strat..........first off, you need the money in your hands, and you need to be very steadfast. in their computers, there are actual set bargaining points......we set a price of the guy, and he went to check the computer, and it said that our price was the cutoff point as to how low he could go and still make a profit for the company

not a bad idea to throw out the line that "well, i guess ill go head somewhere and see if they have one"...throw in the fact that you have the money in your hand, and they should give in

As a last resort for a bit of a headroom boost, would a weber copper cap + maybe a weber california (pretty much a JBL d120f) give me that tad?

Why not buy off ebay? They've been going for under $700 there.

But, with GC you can take home the one you played and be sure it's right. You know exactly what you're getting.

I helped a forum bro in WA get one used for $500 last year. Deals are out there. There is only one mod that I feel is a must on that amp. Cut the bright cap. Nothing to it, you just have to identify it and clip one end with some wirecutters and bend it out of the way a bit. Don't take it out incase you ever want to bring it back to stock.

A weber cali 12 is a no-brainer choice for that amp. Also, invest in a decent set of NOS 6V6 tubes. I loved the Brimars. I thought the tubes made more of a difference when I had mine. I was runnign a Weber Chicago 12 and I think the Chicago added to much of it's own distortion to the amp. The Calif would be much more transparent.

Other than that, a DRRI is your typical circuit board mass produced Fender. Excellent reverb, a bit too bright, but you can fix that quickly. I'd most likely go used.
