I've got some shows coming up with some fast pedal switches during songs... which I loathe.
In rehearsal, I am reminded how much better the foot switching of a Original Boss Compact Stomp Pedal Design is than almost anything else -despite their being 200 brands now copying and tweaking about 20 original fundamental pedals. With a Boss, there is no aiming, no discomfort, and no distinguishing pedals. it's just better. And spare me the top mount argument -as Boss knew pedals needed a certain amount of space for the foot so elected to do side mount so a second row could be added easily. also spare me the buffer/true bypass wormhole -Boss can do it on any pedal they elect to do -We are talking about the industrial design of the stomp platform mechanism in this thread.
I'm guessing developing a pedal stomp lever system is complicated and costly to these manufacturers who can easily buy a good 3PDT Stomp Switch and call it a day....
look at the market.... it's basically the 50 yr old garage approach for something that was innovated and made superior by Boss and a limited others -over 40 years ago. DOD tried, but guys -their pedals and stomp button sucked compared to Boss -Ibanez did a good job.
but It's a clear place where a Pedal company known for improving things and forwarding the art could innovate in the Market
SO here's the mechanical design that's best for the guitar player interacting with a pedal live:
Here's what we get from everyone else -beautiful often but not as good
here's an attempt -but DOD's mechanism is spongy and gross compared to Boss
I guess Ibanez/Maxon is the second best approach
Here's what happens when guys in their garage have tried in the past: :lMAO:
So who out there is innovating, or has a system that is equal or better than the classic Boss Design? And notice -no where in this thread did I say the Boss design was prettier! :lmao:
