OOOH!! Like this V!!

Was fishing around on the Killer guitars site. like the body shape of the Akira guitar, esp the input jack and strap button placement. but NOT the headstock..

However... I found a V model on there that wows me! looks impeccably built and the finish looks very deep. Silver sparkle with a mirror guard.. Only thing Id change would be the knobs..
Plus, the pickup combo would be awesome!! Duncan dist, Duncan 59/custom hybrid mid and Jazz neck...

Of course, its quite pricey, so no chance.. But I can drool...

Feast thine eyes!

looks awesome. damn shame they dont have an explorer shape would love to get one from em they look like they make good stuff. on that note though i never trusted paint like that. my brain says itll be fine but my gut thinks the paint will chip like hell and will be glitter and sparkle chaos for all

Re: OOOH!! Like this V!!

I dig it, except I don't like the jack on the face (I don't like that on any guitar, really). It isn't something I would ever use, but that doesn't stop me from thinking it is cool.

Re: OOOH!! Like this V!!

Yah, pretty cool. To me, not $6K worth of cool. But pretty nice. So are the Akira guitars. Still, I'm off pointy guitars these days; I'll keep my Moderne and Explorers (and Firebirds, if those count). Won't be buying more tho. Unless I find a really sweet USA Hamer Standard with a flame top. Or a korina Heritage Vee for a decent price. Or if I should come across a Futura. Or one of the EBMM St Vincents that's like a Jetsons version of the Firebird. Or one of those superpointy Guild X-79s; I always wanted one of those...

Er, on second thought I guess maybe I'm not quite done with pointy guitars after all.

Holy cr@p, that's awesome. Total score, minus the front-mounted jack and the price tag, ha ha!

Seriously, though...LOVE the simple bevel on the top horn. Why has NO ONE thought of that before on a standard Flying V?

Re: OOOH!! Like this V!!

actually i see the bevel, and any kind of arm cut off on a flying v as a useless feature, but then again i imagine flying v's being played only in the way 80's rock and metal players played/play them, for example, wolf hoffman, kai hansen (tough he played a rhoads shaped esp), dave mustaine (well his y2kv's) and james hetfield (well he slings his v lower than the others..... though kai's picking hand is at a similar height as hetfield's, his neck is always pointing higher than what james usually does)

and if the jack isn't mounted on the inner side of the upper horn (ala jackson king v) then it should go on the front face, mounting the jack on the lower wing makes the flying v impossible to play sit down on the classical position

Re: OOOH!! Like this V!!

now.. if that was a purple.. ohhh yea:) not crazy on the V shape but i would definitely play it.. also.. the humbuckers look kool to me

Re: OOOH!! Like this V!!

Needs 2 less frets, one less pickup and one more volume :)

I dig the finish and body beveling.

Price makes a overinflated USA DEAN custom shop look like a steal.

Re: OOOH!! Like this V!!

6k??!!?? Oh man, if i had that kind of money to spend, I doubt I'd even consider a V. I have no idea why it should cost that much.

because people will pay that price..idiots but some people have more money than sense.. really no different than the custom shop prices jackson, gibson or fender charge.. all these companies need to put down the crack pipe
