Ooooooh my GOD!!!!!!! (the Edwards LP is here!)

Thames

Great White Malice
OMG... I cant believe it, the carrier/customs told me this week it was still stuck there. And oh surprise! it arrived this morning!!

I cant believe the quality of the guitar I'm holding at the moment. :32: 1-piece body (yes, 1 piece!), 1-piece fat, I mean "FAT" neck. Awesome flametop finish. Outstanding workmanship. Those japanese dudes know how to build up a nice guitar. The curved-top is as curvy as Carmen Electra body :naughty:. This thing sings and sustains incredibly. It has all the appointment of a '59 burst, including the long-neck tenon! It comes stock with SD '59/JB combo.

Dudes, grab those guitars fast 'cause they'll grow up in prices fast!!
This one can stand proudly besides any Gibson CS/Historic piece. No joke!!

Here's a link to it for some pictures

CONGRATS! Now, some sound clips, pls!!

Let's see ... it's a Les Paul, so how about:

> The tapping section to "Musical Box"
> Apocalypse in 9/8 (the guitar part w/the power chords)
> Some bits from 2112!!

Ok I have to check out what's going wrong with my soundcard first. I can't record anything from the line in! Dunno why. that's why I cant participate in those forum jams....

And yes, I'll record all these parts :cool2:
Must change pickups first... JB is way too hot for me!

Nah, I gotta hear the solo to 'Firth of Fifth'!!!

Re: Ooooooh my GOD!!!!!!! (the Edwards LP is here!)

When did these come about? Never heard of them. How can thery make them so cheap with good workmanship????

Maybe Gibson will sue these guys next. It looks almost identical to a Gibby LP.

You wouldn't wanna trade a 59 bridge for that JB would ya? ;)

Good news on the LP mate, hope you enjoy it.

Re: Ooooooh my GOD!!!!!!! (the Edwards LP is here!)

Congrats Thames! I'm happy things finally fell through and you didn't become a horror story yourself with that... how much did the duty fees run ya?

Re: Ooooooh my GOD!!!!!!! (the Edwards LP is here!)

NICE guitar. That's a real looking flame folks. The pickups alone justify half the cost, nevermind getting something that looks that well constructed for next to nothing.

From the looks of things, I'd gladly take one of these over any of the other LP copies I've seen.

Re: Ooooooh my GOD!!!!!!! (the Edwards LP is here!)

Man that finish is just incredible, like a Gibby that an old friend of mine had, really nice! Congrats big time! :32:

Re: Ooooooh my GOD!!!!!!! (the Edwards LP is here!)

Holy Diddley!! 390!!!! , How's it compare to a gibby les paul Standard???

From my experience with them. They are the same thing as Gibsons, but are 25-30% the the Gibson price. I want a Custom with dual white emg81s.

Re: Ooooooh my GOD!!!!!!! (the Edwards LP is here!)

Ok dudes... after spending almost the whole weekend with it, here are my obsevations :

AAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRGHHH!!

We can believe the quality workmanship of that guitar ("we" = me and a friend, working for a reputable music store here). My friend never had/tried a Gibson LP with such resonant, sustaining, singing tone. Really. We're totally astonished by the tone of this guitar, so rich sounding acoustically. We performed a full autopsy this weekend, unloading/unmounting all the parts. The whole bridge assembly is made by Gotoh (high quality) and tuners too (they are really, really smooth, and the pegs look great). The 1-piece mahogany body is incredible, lots of 3d reflection and depth, same as the flametop, which is not as dead/flat looking as some Gibsons. The neck/body are both cut the right angle, the long neck tenon is tightly inserted in there, the electronic/wiring is well-done and the pots/switch dont even need to be replaced. The only flaw so far is the ceramic caps used for the tone pots!!! :D

Believe me guys, either we have Custom Shop quality product with outstanding quality control at ridiculous price, or I'm only a damn lucky a.s.s.

My friend thought his '52 ash Tele (1 piece!) was the most resonant guitar he ever tried, until he played this Edwards LP. No joke.
